TRAVEL: YUANYANG RICE TERRACES

Yuanyang Rice Terraces are situated in the south east of Yunnan province and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

They span over 28,000 acres and were constructed 2,500 years ago when the Hani people settled in the area. From October to March the terraces are flooded creating colourful images. I stayed in Pugao Laozhai village as it has the best sunrises and in the evening I visited Bada village to watch the sunset.
