Volunteer in Rural China

Since 2016, Educating Girls of Rural China has run English learning camps during the summer holidays.

The purpose of the English learning camps is to:

  • give students an opportunity to practice their spoken English;
  • introduce them to different teaching methods;
  • bring English to life;
  • build their confidence;
  • and expose them to different perspectives.

So far 80 girls have participated in EGRC’s English learning camps.

In the video above you can listen to 7 EGRC students talking about their experience on an English learning camp last summer.

You can read about my experience volunteering as a teacher at an EGRC English learning camp here.

You can find out more about how to apply to volunteer here.
